Detroit, Michigan: A Five-Day Adventure Through History and Culture

Day 1: Downtown Detroit

  4. End the day with a visit to Mexicantown, which offers a variety of authentic Mexican restaurants, such as Taqueria El Rey and Los Galanes.

Day 4: Belle Isle and Eastern Market

  1. Start your day with a visit to Belle Isle Park, a beautiful island park in the Detroit River that offers a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, swimming, and picnicking.

  2. Enjoy lunch at one of the many food trucks or restaurants at the famous Eastern Market, which offers a variety of fresh produce, meats, and baked goods.

  3. After lunch, visit the Heidelberg Project, a unique outdoor art installation that features colorful and whimsical works of art made from found objects.

  4. End the day with a visit to the Detroit Zoo, which offers a variety of animals and exhibits, including the Arctic Ring of Life and the Butterfly Garden.

Day 5: Ford Rouge Factory and Greenfield Village
